Kingsbrook Hosts Asthma Screening Week March 26-30

02/08/2018

Kingsbrook's Best Health School provides free education and early detection options for Central Brooklyn residents all year round. In March, asthma will be a central focus. From March 26-20th, free asthma screenings will be held for the entire week, from 11:00-2:00pm in the Pulmonary Lab (DMRI 5th Floor) on our main campus at 585 Schectady Avenue between Winthrop Street & Rutland Road. Asthma impacts a large part of the Central Brooklyn community and needs a level of treatment and understanding that is critical for living a normal healthy life

According to the Asthma & Allergy Association, asthma affects almost 25 million Americans. It is a chronic disease that causes your airways to become inflamed, making it hard to breathe. There is no cure for asthma. The best way to manage asthma is to avoid triggers, take medications to prevent symptoms and prepare to treat asthma episodes if they occur.

No appointments are needed for screenings. For more information please call Kinsgbrook's Community Information line at 718-6-4-5062.
