Best Health School provides free education and early detection options for Central Brooklyn
residents all year round. On October 23-27th free asthma screenings will
be held for the entire week, from 11:00-2:00pm in the Pulmonary Lab, DMRI 5th Floor, on our main campus at
585 Schenectady Avenue between Winthrop Street & Rutland Road.
Asthma involves narrowing of the airways, this is sometimes triggered by
allergens or irritating things entering the lungs. Symptoms include trouble
breathing, wheezing, coughing and tightness in the chest. In severe cases,
asthma can be deadly. There is no cure for asthma, but asthma can be managed
with proper prevention and treatment. There are more Americans than ever
before suffering from asthma.

to address the chronic disease issues most prevelant in our community,
