Social workers stand up for millions of people every day. These include
people who are experiencing devastating illnesses and mental health crises,
our veterans, children, families and communities. Yet many people still
misunderstand who social workers are and the invaluable contributions
they bring to society.
This year Social Work Month is being celebrated with the “Social
Workers Stand Up!” campaign. This campaign is designed to educate
the public about the contributions of social workers and give social workers
tools they can use to elevate the profession.
“Our Social workers stand up by comforting people who are experiencing
devastating illnesses and mental health crises, ensuring they get the
best care while on the road to recovery,” said Gail Holtz, Senior
Director, Progression of Care. “KJMC’s Social workers work
with our community agencies, care managers and with national, state and
local government to obtain and provide optimal support services. Our team
goes beyond Medical Case Management activities and stand up by protecting
families and their children, while ensuring our patients reach their full
health and personal potentials.”
We applaud all our social workers for their unwavering commitment and dedication
to our patients and their families.
