Best Health School provides free education and early detection options for Central Brooklyn
residents all year round. On May 21st CPR Training will take place on
our main campus at
585 Schenectady Avenue between Winthrop Street & Rutland Road in the Lillian Minkin Ballroom.
The mission of the
Best Health School is to provide better access to wellness information and screenings to promote
healthier communities in our borough. As such, the Best Health School's
education programs provide access to services that are specifically designed
for the uninsured of our community, and plays a large part of the facility’s
prevention agenda to improve access to quality care and education efforts.
CPR (or cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is a combination of chest compressions
and rescue breathing (mouth-to-mouth resuscitation). If someone isn't
circulating blood or breathing adequately, CPR can restore circulation
of oxygen-rich blood to the brain.
"Learning a valuable skill such as CPR means that people can possibly
save the lives their loved ones and those around them in critical situations,
" says Enid Dillard, Director of Marketing & Public Affairs.
“It can also be the life-line needed until advanced medical care
can be provided." The Best Health School also provides education
on stroke awareness and a myriad of chronic health conditions. For more
information on our educational schedule for 2016, visit our website at

According to the American Heart Association, about 92 percent of sudden
cardiac arrest victims die before reaching the hospital, but statistics
prove that if more people knew CPR, more lives could be saved. Immediate
CPR can double, or even triple, a victim’s chance of survival.
