KINGSBROOK PROVIDES FREE SCREENINGS & EDUCATION FOR
HYPERTENSION
Dedicated to providing easy access to early prevention and detection services
for the community, Kingsbrook will offer free hypertension screenings
and education to visiting patients and guests starting February 26th.
Screenings will be conducted from 11:00am- 2:00pm at Java Coast Cafe:
Katz 1st floor. After screenings and education, tours of the outpatient
center, located in Suite 100, DMRI first floor on the main campus at 585
Schenectady Avenue between Winthrop Street & Rutland Road will be
conducted upon request.
Kingsbrook’s free screenings provide access to detection efforts
for the under and uninsured of the community. The screening program is
part of the facility’s prevention agenda to improve access to quality
care and early detection efforts. Hypertension is linked to myriad of
other chronic health conditions such as stroke, heart attack, kidney &
liver disease to name a few. Regional data shows that 26% of the Flatbush
Brooklyn community suffer from hypertension.
"Knowing how to best control hypertension is key to living a healthy
life. We know that early detection is key to controlling hypertension,”
says Enid Dillard, Director of Marketing & Public Affairs. “Many
members of our community do not have access to primary care and our free
screening options are a benefit to many in this position."
