Kingsbrook offers free stroke screenings and education from 11:00am- 2:00pm
in the Vascular Laboratory, Katz building 4th floor: 585 Schenectady Avenue, between Winthrop Street & Rutland Road.
Kingsbrook’s free screening program provides access to detection
opportunities for the under and uninsured of the community. The screening
program is part of the facility’s prevention agenda to improve access
to quality care and early detection efforts and is offered via Kingsbrook’s
Best Health School.
Kingsbrook was recently awarded the Gold Stroke Award which recognizes
the hospital’s commitment to ensuring that stroke patients receive
the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based
guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence. To receive the Gold
Quality Achievement award, hospitals must achieve 85 percent or higher
adherence to all Get With The Guidelines-Stroke achievement indicators
for two or more consecutive 12-month periods.
“A stroke patient loses 1.9 million neurons each minute stroke treatment
is delayed. These efforts further demonstrates our commitment to delivering
advanced stroke education and awareness efforts to members of our community,”
says Enid Dillard, Director of Marketing & Public Affairs at Kingsbrook.
