June, 2016--Brooklyn, NY-- Kingsbrook's
Best Health School provides free education and early detection options for Central Brooklyn
residents all year round. On June 27-30 free asthma screenings will be
held for the entire week, from 11:00-2:00pm in the Respiratory (Department DMRI 5th Floor) on our main campus at

Asthma involves narrowing of the airways, this is sometimes triggered by
allergens or irritating things entering the lungs. Symptoms include trouble
breathing, wheezing, coughing and tightness in the chest. In severe cases,
asthma can be deadly. There is no cure for asthma, but asthma can be managed
with proper prevention and treatment. There are more Americans than ever
before suffering from asthma.
" The mission of the

programs provide access to services that are specifically designed for
the uninsured of our community, and plays a large part of our effort to
improve access to quality care.”
Asthma impacts a large part of the Central Brooklyn community and needs
a level of treatment and understanding that is critical for living a normal
healthy life. The American lung Association describes, asthma as a lifelong
disease that causes wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness, and coughing.
It can limit a person's quality of life. It is one of this country's
