May, 2015--Brooklyn, NY--Dedicated to providing easy access to early prevention
and detection services for our community, Kingsbrook will offer free hypertension
screening and education to visiting patients and guests on May 15
th and May 29
th. Screenings will be conducted from 11:00am- 2:00pm on scheduled days.
Screenings will take place at Java Coast Cafe: Katz 1st floor. After screenings
and education, tours of our outpatient center, located in Suite 100, DMRI
first floor on our main campus at 585 Schenectady Avenue between Winthrop
Street & Rutland Road will be conducted upon request.
Kingsbrook's free screenings provide access to detection efforts for
the under and uninsured of our community. The screening program is part
of the facility's prevention agenda to improve access to quality care
and early detection efforts. Hypertension is linked to myriad of other
chronic health conditions such as stroke, heart attack, kidney & liver
disease to name a few. Knowing how to best control hypertension is key
to living a healthy life.
"We are very committed to offering prevention and management options
to our community, especially as it pertains to chronic disease,"
says Enid Dillard, Director of Marketing & Public Affairs. "Our
free screening and educational initiatives are so very important to residents."
