June , 2015--Brooklyn, NY-- Kingsbrook's
Best Health School provides free education and early detection options for Central Brooklyn
residents all year round. On June 22-26th free asthma screenings will
be held for the entire week, from 11:00-2:00pm in the Respiratory (Department DMRI 5th Floor) on our main campus at 585 Schenectady Avenue between Winthrop Street
& Rutland Road.
The mission of the
Best Health School is to provide better access to wellness information and screenings to promote
healthier communities in our borough. As such, the Best Health School's
education programs provide access to services that are specifically designed
for the uninsured of our community, and plays a large part of the facility’s
prevention agenda to improve access to quality care and education efforts.
" We do know that most people with asthma can control their symptoms
and prevent asthma attacks by avoiding asthma triggers and correctly using
prescribed medicines, " says Enid Dillard, Director of Marketing
& Public Affairs. “This is why our Best Health School options
are pertinent to driving a healthier community." For more information

Asthma impacts a large part of the Central Brooklyn community and needs
a level of treatment and understanding that is critical for living a normal
healthy life. The American lung Association describes, asthma as a lifelong
disease that causes wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness, and coughing.
It can limit a person's quality of life.
