According to the American Institute on Stress, women are twice as likely to experience major depression than men. They are also up to three times more apt to suffer from anxiety disorders or to attempt suicide. More specifically, The 2010 National Institutes of Health study analyzed data from the Study of Women’s Health Across the Nation and found that the cumulative impact of overexposure to stress hormones on black women between the ages of 49-55, takes a toll on the body and contributes to the development or progression of such ailments as “cardiovascular disease, obesity, diabetes, susceptibility to infection, carcinogenesis, and accelerated aging.”

“The combination of being over committed at work, at home and the dynamic of family, makes women's lives very stressful,” says Enid Dillard, director of Marketing & Public Affairs at Kingsbrook." learning how to balance life with the proper tools is key to preserving mental emotional and physical wellness."
