WHO WE ARE
The Neck and Back Pain Center is a collaboration of specialists -- from
across the Kingsbrook Centers of Excellence -- who work together to restore
mobility, reduce pain, and improve quality of life for their patients.
The Center is led by physicians who specialize in rehabilitation medicine
and pain management. Their team of colleagues include physical and occupational
therapists, neurologists, neuro-psychologists, physician assistants, diagnostic
radiologists, as well as board-certified neurosurgeons with specialized
fellowship training in the most advanced surgical techniques.
TREATMENTS WE OFFER
Rehabilitation and
Integrative Medicine approaches alleviate neck and back pain with a variety of conservative
and complementary treatments, including:
•physical and occupational therapy that include modalities such as
heat, cold, massage, ultrasound, and transcutaneous electrical stimulation.
•integrative medicine approaches that include acupuncture, guasha,
yoga, and hypnotherapy.
Interventional Pain Procedures are often performed using ultrasound or x-ray to deliver the therapy to
the exact source of pain. These techniques are safe, take just a few minutes
to perform, and typically involve a local anesthetic, a low dose of injectable
steroid, or comfortable sedation. Pain procedures include:
•Epidural Steroid Injections
•Medial Branch Blocks
•Facet Joint Injections
•Radiofrequency Nerve Ablations
•Peripheral Nerve Blocks
•Muscle and Joint Injections
•Botox Injections for management of neck or limb spasticity, and for
prevention of headaches in adult migraine patients
Neurosurgery. Our board-certified neurosurgeons use advanced, proven, minimally-invasive
techniques, including computer-guided surgical neuro-navigation, endoscopy,
and microsurgery. These techniques significantly reduce post-operative
discomfort and recovery time.
