Medical Residency Training Program
Kingsbrook's Department of Medicine maintains an independently accredited Internal Medicine Residency Training Program conducted by a highly qualified teaching faculty.
In addition to visiting attendings, the medical residency training program is staffed by a full-time director, and 8 additional full-time and part-time physician coordinators. The department includes the following subspecialties: Cardiology, Pulmonary Medicine, Hematology/Oncology, Nephrology (including dialysis unit), Infectious Diseases, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Critical Care Medicine (Intensive Care Unit), and Geriatrics/Long Term Care (Rutland Nursing Home). Teaching faculty also hold academic appointments at the nearby Downstate Medical Center...

In each year of the program, residents are expected to be involved in scholarly activities by taking part in original research projects, presenting case reports, reviews of literature and in depth reviews of focused subjects in medicine.
