Kingsbrook Hosts Stroke Screening Week

Kingsbrook will host a special stroke screening week from February 24-28th at 11:00-2:00pm in the Vascular Laboratory. This special initiative is part of Kingsbrook’s Best Health School outreach effort and is designed to increase access to early detection and education initiatives that surround chronic diseases most pervasive in the community. All screenings are free and no prior appointment is needed. The vascular lab can be easily accessed at 585 Schenectady Avenue between Winthrop Street & Rutland Road-Katz building 4th floor.

Kingsbrook is committed to advancing stroke prevention and treatment options for the central Brooklyn community. In 2019 Kingsbrook received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award with Target: StrokeSM Honor Roll Elite Plus. This honor recognizes the hospital’s commitment to ensuring that stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines. Additionally, Kingsbrook specializes in stroke rehabilitation and has a designated Stroke Center implemented in its Emergency Department. Kingsbrook’s ER is fully equipped with tele-stroke capabilities, a 2-way, video conferencing system with stroke/neurology specialists.
