Kingsbrook Hosts Asthma Screening Week Nov. 25-27th


Kingsbrook's Best Health School provides free education and early detection options for Central Brooklyn residents all year round. On Nov. 25-27th free asthma screenings will be held for the entire week, from 11:00-2:00pm in the Pulmonary Lab, DMRI 3rd floor on our main campus at 585 Schenectady Avenue between Winthrop Street & Rutland Road.

Asthma impacts a large part of the Central Brooklyn community and needs a level of treatment and understanding that is critical for living a normal healthy life. The American lung Association describes, asthma as a lifelong disease that causes wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness, and coughing. It can limit a person's quality of life. It is one of this country's most common and costly diseases.

" The mission of the Best Health School is to provide better access to early detection efforts such as this to help promote healthier lifesyles,". says Enid Dillard, Director of Marketing & Public Affairs. “As such, the Best Health School's education programs provide access to services that are specifically designed for the uninsured of our community, and plays a large part of our effort to improve access to quality care.”
