KINGSBROOK HOSTS STROKE SCREENING WEEK

Kingsbrook will offer free stroke screenings and education from July 23-27, 11:00am- 2:00pm in the Vascular Laboratory, Katz building 4th floor on the medical center’s main campus at 585 Schenectady Avenue between Winthrop Street & Rutland Road. Kingsbrook’s free screening program provides access to detection opportunities for the under and uninsured of the community. The screening program is part of the facility’s prevention agenda to improve access to quality care and early detection efforts and is offered via Kingsbrook’s Best Health School.

The screening effort is designed to continue the commitment to stroke care and treatment. Kingsbrook recently received the Gold Stroke Award and has for the past several years, an honor that recognizes the hospital’s commitment to ensuring that stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines. Additionally, Kingsbrook specializes in stroke rehabilitation and has a designated Stroke Center implemented in its Emergency Department. The center is fully equipped with tele-stroke capabilities, a 2-way, video conferencing system with stroke/neurology specialists.
