The Department of Medicine is the largest department within the hospital. The 183-bed service includes an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and a Cardiac Care Unit (CCU). Subspecialties include:

Kingsbrook maintains an independent accredited Internal Medicine Residency Training Program conducted by a highly qualified teaching faculty. A large, voluntary, medical attending staff contributes to teaching and clinical activities. The Department of Medicine provides consultation for Kingsbrook’s specialty services such as: Rehabilitation Medicine, Surgery, Geriatric Psychiatry and Rutland Nursing Home. This allows patients who are receiving specialty care to have their medical needs addressed.
