ABOUT US

The Drug Information Center (DIC) is a comprehensive source for information on medications, supplements and investigational drugs. It provides medication consultative services to Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center (KJMC) pharmacists, physicians, nurses and related health care professionals. Private Medication consultative services are also available for hospitalized patients and patients awaiting discharge. KJMC maintains a comprehensive library of resources containing information on US, foreign and investigational prescription and non-prescription products, as well as information on dietary supplements and herbal remedies. The DIC subscribes to numerous medical and pharmacy journals, texts and commercial electronic databases.

OUR STAFF

The DIC is staffed by drug information specialists, clinical pharmacists and pharmacy residents. These practitioners are experienced in retrieving and evaluating medical and pharmacy literature. Verbal and/or written responses are supplied promptly and are tracked for quality assurance purposes.

By calling the drug information center or coming to our center and receiving our assistance in person, you will understand why it is important to take each of your medications and how you should take them in order to benefit the most. The drug information center has educational materials and tools to help you stay on track with your medication schedule .

PRIVATE CONSULTATIONS AT THE DRUG INFORMATION CENTER

Drug information pharmacists and other health care professionals experienced in working with patients who need help with their medications   are available at the drug information center for private consultations. Patients can feel comfortable speaking one - on - one with a staff member about their medications in a comfortable private setting.

Private patient consultations are available Monday - Friday from 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM.

WALK IN CONSULTATIONS AT THE DRUG INFORMATION CENTER

You may come to the drug information center as a "walk in" between Monday - Friday from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM where we will gladly provide information about medications and answer any questions you have about your medications.
