RUTLAND NURSING HOME HOSTS
ANTIQUE AUTO SHOW on MAY 21st, 2013
On Tuesday May 21st at 10:30 am, Kingsbrook's Rutland Nursing Home will host an Antique Automobile Show for residents who reside at the facility. Beautiful cars of the past will line the circular drive at the entrance of the facility located at 585 Schenectady Avenue between Winthrop Street & Rutland Road. In its second year at Rutland, this recreation event is designed to inspire residents and encourage interactivity.
The event is facilitated by the Antique Automobile Association of Brooklyn and have been a charted club by the New York State Association Laws for the past 40+ years. They are lead by club President Lenny Shiller. The club has a membership close to 400 members. These members bring out their cars for exhibitions, movies, and promotion of wellness at hospitals and nursing homes. For the residents of Rutland, each car serves as a memory of the past. The cars used are as old as 1929 Ford model "T", featuring classic brands from Plymouth, Pontiac, Oldsmobile and American Motors to name a few.
