Brooklyn, New York--Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center is proud to announce that it’s Department of Vascular Laboratories at the Center’s main campus, which is situated in the East Flatbush section of Central Brooklyn, has received accreditation from The Intersocietal Commission For The Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL).

This ICAVL accreditation distinguishes Kingsbrook’s Vascular Laboratories, as one of the few vascular laboratories in Brooklyn to have met the established standards of the commission, on both a technological and personnel level.  At Kingsbrook, qualified, well-trained physicians and clinicians, competent in the delivery of high quality vascular care and services, staff our state-of-the-art vascular labs lead by one of New York City’s finest surgeon’s, Dr. William Lois.   Our staff utilizes the latest techniques, including completely non-invasive, and pain-free procedures to evaluate and treat the full spectrum of cardiovascular disease including:                    

·         Stroke

·         Deep Vein Thrombosis (blood clot in the veins)

·         Varicose veins and other venous disorders

·         Arterial insufficiency (poor blood flow)

·         Carotid and Vertebral arterial disease

·         Intra-cranial occlusions (blockages)

·         Renal artery stenosis

·         Postoperative graft surveillance

·         Monitoring of dialysis access grafts/fistula

Kingsbrook is an 864-bed teaching medical center, dedicated to meeting the health needs of one of Brooklyn’s most culturally diverse communities. Centers of Excellence include: Rehabilitation Medicine and Traumatic Brain Injury/Coma Recovery, a Comprehensive Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center, Geriatric Psychiatry, Orthopedics & Joint Replacement, a certified Non-Invasive Vascular Laboratory and a Women’s Wellness Center offering state-of-the-art, minimally invasive Laparoscopic Gynecological Surgery.
