KJMC partners with the Daily News to offer free Prostate Cancer health screenings, as part of its community education, early detection and prevention initiative 2007.

Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center (KJMC), located at 585 Schenectady Avenue between Rutland Road and Winthrop Street in Brooklyn, continues its efforts to heighten awareness, and to promote early detection as the key to disease prevention. In its ongoing thrust to educate residents on health issues affecting our local community, Kingsbrook has partnered with the Daily News newspaper, to offer free Prostate Cancer health screenings to its male community members during the month of June.

Prostate Cancer and its related ailments continue to impact our community members at a relatively high rate. As such, KJMC’s team of medical professionals will offer members of the public opportunities to be screened, in an ongoing attempt to help stem the growth of this disease in our community. In this regard, from Monday June 18 through Friday 22 free prostate cancer screenings will be available to all members of the public at the sites indicated in the schedule below.

In light of this, and given Kingsbrook’s steadfast commitment to the residents of Central Brooklyn throughout its 82 years of service, we continue to reach out in the spirit of wellness by encouraging all of our male residents to avail themselves of these opportunities to get screened. Research shows that early detection and treatment remain the keys to preventing some of the severe complexities that can, and usually arises, when a disease goes untreated.”
